“The Late, Late Show” is what defined my career in jazz. My mother, a classical vocalist, thought I would follow in her footsteps. I would sneak into the basement and listen to Ms. Staton, Sarah Vaughn, Billie Holiday, and just know that is where I wanted to go with my voice. The album cover seduced me into the glamour and magic of jazz, and from that point on, I was hooked.
Ms. Staton, may God hold you in his arms and include you in that great jazz group in heaven! What company you have joined. What glorious sounds await all of us. What fabulous vibes you have left us! Thank you.
Excellent !
